Cookies Usage on this Website

What's a cookie?

Sadly, in this case no chocolate chips are involved. Whenever you visit a website that uses cookies, small text files are placed on your computer. Why? Well, those text files help make the websites work better on your end, or provide information to the owner of the site.

GOOGLE ANALYTICS

The Website Doula collects cookies using Universal Analytics (Google) through account UA-53-64411-1.

I use google analytic cookies to collect information about how you and other site visitors peruse my website and blog. It helps me to compile reports on my content strategy and how to improve the website content and flow. The information collected is completely anonymous, including the number of visitors to my website, where they have come from, which pages they visited and for how long. Read Google's overview of privacy and safeguarding data.

VIDEOS

I host my videos using a tool called Wistia, and then embed them on my site. When you watch a video on my site Wistia creates cookies that will track anonymously which video was watched, and for how long.

SOCIAL SHARING COOKIES

We use the Facebook Like Box (see the bottom left of the footer) to help grow our social media presence. The plugin is able to detect if you have already liked our facebook page, and then either provides a "You Like This" message, or a "Like" button.  If you are not logged into facebook, no cookies should be served.  To read more about the Facebook privacy policy, click here.
